OPENING DAY MLB

MLB opening day has finally arrived. Baseball fans worldwide have awaited the arrival of the 2015 MLB season patiently and will now have the opportunity to sit and watch their favorite teams slug it out for 162 games. Starting at 1:05 p.m  all the way to 10:10 p.m. E.T a schedule of 14 games will air on central television networks  ESPN, ESPN2, FOX, MLB Networks and others. Review the schedule for today's ball games at the MLB official website.

Last season, the San Francisco Giants conquered the NL and circled enough sand bag bases to earn the Commissioners Trophy in the 2014 World Series. They'll head to Chase Field to  take on the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight in the Opening Day grand finale. Their offensive man power allowed them to register 636 runs last season, a clear statistic that explains they're success in 2014. Giants right fielder Hunter Pence will make his debut tonight after registering 180 hits last season. He'll be subject to a plethora of Diamondback  pitchers who could careless about last season. Josh Collmenter would like to forget about last year himself.  He registered 11 wins and 9 losses, not the type of season record  that any major league pitcher would like to regard to as sufficient. The Diamondbacks won only 64 games last year and like it or not will have to face the spotlight against the defending World Series Champions tonight. Time will tell whether or not they are truly up for the challenge

The Kansas City Royals made a World Series appearance last fall. They fell just 1 run short of the 2014 MLB title in game 7. Their amazing 2014 season came to a bitter end, but the optimism there in should carry over into this season. Kansas City will host the Chicago White-Sox this after noon  at 4:10 p.m. E.T. The competitive American League bullied an exhausted White-Sox ball club last season causing them to win just 73 games. What better way to start the season than against their conference champions. First baseman Jose Abreu will definitely accept the challenge he faces against the Royals defense that produced only 5 errors last post-season. Honorable mention is the stellar strike-out total Royals pitcher James Shields produced last year. Grab some cracker jack, a couple of brews and get ready for the slug fest that awaits us on Opening Day.
